Wedding Eve

Merry Wedding Eve!

Tomorrow my sister gets married. Today we are having our nails done and a rehearsal late afternoon, followed by a rehearsal dinner. This morning I'm about to go for a swim before nails at lunchtime. We have Alla (other bridesmaid) with us now and many more people arriving throughout the day.

Dad and Lex are driving down mid day and John & Rach are arriving then too.

It's getting exciting! I've done all my wedding chores as of last night and just waiting to see what else I can do.

Transport is sorted for the day - despite the headache it was trying to get it arranged.

Marque went up yesterday and we spent a while placing all the tables. Chairs have arrived, as have the toilets - the boys even built a castle type structure around the loos to hide them from sight.

Not long to go now!!

Christchurch Earthquake

For those non-New Zealanders amongest my readers, you may or may not have heard about the 6.3 magnitude earthquake that struck yesterday at 12.51pm. 6 months ago Christchurch suffered a 7.1 earthquake at 4am on Sunday morning. Remarkably no one was killed. This earthquake was completely out of the blue - until then no one knew there was actually a fault line under Christchurch. Unfortunetly this earthquake was much shallower, directly under the city and in the middle of a busy weekday lunchtime period.

We were travelling up the country to Te Awamutu - for Lee & Morgans' wedding on Satuday. We've had the news on ever since we arrived. I've heard from the few people I know in Christchurch, all of whom are safe and well. Thank goodness.

I've been watching TVone news - they seem to have pretty steady and up-to-date news. You can also read all about it at http://www.stuff.co.nz/

I overheard a 7yr old Australian tell her Grandpa that "there was a meteor in New Zealand". Not quite, but almost!

Thankfully I'm here in TA, but some of Morgan's Family were due to fly out of Chch this morning to come up for the wedding - fingers crossed they can still get here in time.

a few busy words

I dont' think I've ever felt so busy in my life. I remember being stressed to the max - school certificate art and final uni exam times are springing to mind, but I don't remember ever being this busy. I bought a diary this year and thank goodness I did. It's been a lifesaver. If I was trying to retain all this info and scheduling in my head I'd be a lot more stressed.

This afternoon I came home from work and took neurofen and panadol to kill the killer headache I'd developed only a half hour before leaving work. It wasn't until John gave me a cold flannel and I put it on my forehead that I realise I was both dehydrated and exhausted.

Don't get me wrong I'm loving have so much to do and would much rather be busy than bored. I don't really have the energy to list everything that's going on. Just know that in two weeks Lee gets married. That will probably explain it for most of you out there! I totally love it all. I'm just so busy.

What on earth am I going to do once it's all over?! John is organising my 30th for me - I just can't fathom organising another event right now. There will be moving in April and a wee niece or nephew arriving in July. So there will be lots to do I know it. Phew!

Bring on 12 days sitting on the beach in Australia in March I say!

Lee's Graduation

Last night was Lee's graduation. I was so proud to see her graduate with a Bachelor of Creative Technologies, majoring in Visual Arts from Wellington Institue of Technology. It was four years of blood, sweat and tears, but she did it!

Unfortunetly Mum wasn't able to make it to the ceremony having just been released from hospital that afternoon, so I had an extra reason to take lots of photos (as if I needed a reason!). Here are the official photos of the special occasion.

CONGRATULATIONS LEE!
